What's new at the Interagency Burn Permit Center (IBPC)
2009 marks the 4th year of providing the citizens of Flathead County and portions of Lake County with the ability to secure burn permits online.
The goal of the Interagency Burn Permit Center is to provide quality service to the public by streamlining the process of acquiring a burn permit while ensuring that permitted debris burning is accomplished safely and efficiently. We appreciate the many valuable comments received during the 2008 permit season. Your comments and suggestions help us to make this site a better tool for all.
NEW THIS YEAR:
- The ability to renew your expired permit.
During burn permit season (May-June) you must apply for a burn permit in order to conduct a debris burn. Burn permits are valid for 10 days. If you need more time to complete the debris burn, and if the conditions under which you applied for the original permit have not changed, you may renew the expired permit.
If any of the conditions under which you applied for the original permit have changed, you must apply for a new permit.
Only permits issued in the current year may be renewed.
